having thought i was content with myself & my identity [in Christ], i am recognizing the discontent that lies with the aspects of my self that i have no control over: the desires of my heart.
rather than resolving myself to bitterness or coldness, or attempting to subdue or control that aspect of myself, though, i have decided upon self-acceptance. it is not my duty to judge:
"Therefore do not pronounce judgment before the time, before the Lord comes, who will bring to light the things now hidden in darkness and will disclose the purposes of the heart. Then each one will receive his commendation from God." - 1 Corinthians 4:5, ESVadditionally, i will choose an attitude of proactive contentment.
i am not going to waste this time. i am going to be thankful for it & use it well. what a gift that i have something to learn & walk with God through!
as Linda Dillow says, "Happiness is getting what we want. Contentment is wanting what we have." what would make 'what i have' worth having? Jesus.
"You have made known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence, with eternal pleasures at Your right hand." - Psalm 16:11to take pleasure in my toil: enter my season of becoming :]
"For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven...
He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, He has put eternity into man’s heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end. I perceived that there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil — this is God’s gift to man." - Ecclesiastes 3:11-14, ESV
don't get me wrong; i will not be seeking means to the end of transforming myself, but rather the seeking will be the difference & Jesus will show up. & meeting with Him will be my 'worth it.' this is gonna be great.
[[you will become who you are becoming]]
