{one time in high school, i wrote this poem. guess what i came across today?! ... appropriate timing i suppose: welcome back, spring, we've missed you.}
"spring reborn"
awakening from deadly slumber
into life again,
the pulsing of his heart like thunder
throbs inside his head:
an inescapable rhythm.
groggily he rises,
resisting the comfort that beckons
from the submission of hours past.
a struggle to emerge
from below the insulation
into the blinding glory of morning.
he meticulously selects each garment:
a cape of emerald, a blooming belt.
exquisitely detailed,
classic and timeless, yet refreshingly new:
a pristine assemblage of creation
calling to the world to come
and become a part of the splendor of a new season
and a new beginning.
